Works fine
Locks are perfect for keeping my little ones out of the kitchen cabinets. I plan to keep using them once they are bigger for locking other cabinets throughout the house. Locks are easy to install and easy to use.

JUNK!!!
Item is vastly different from a purchase of the same brand and style from 5 years ago that we love. The one five years ago was solid plastic with a mechanical locking mechanism. This one is made with injection molded plastic and uses a friction design. Needless to say it broke on the first day. DO NOT ORDER THIS JUNK!

Hard to operate (at first)
It took me a while to get the hang of this gadget. You have to rotate the sliding piece by pushing down on the TOP, not the bottom flange (which kind of looks like a handle/lever.) As an engineer, I'm offended by anything that takes me a while to figure out--it should be easier. Now that I've got it, it's actually easier to operate than the other type of cabinet lock I have, since I don't have to remove the sliding piece entirely.ease of use: 3 (Can't use one-handed, hard to use with c-shaped cabinet handles--better with knob-type handles.)design: 4durability: t.b.d.appearance: 3kid-proof: 5 (for a 13-month old)value: 4 (Seems slightly over-priced for cheap plastic.)

Good Lock
Lock is good and keeps the kids out. Less conspicuous than most locks with the charcoal color which is great. I got something similar a few yrs ago and had to replace it within a year. They do get a lot of abuse though because I have a daycare.

Very Hard to Open
I hate this. Half the time I can't get it open, even with two hands. And it is impossible while holding a baby. The good news is there is no way my toddler can get it open if it is on, but since it is so annoying it doesn't always get put back on destroying the purpose.

Work Great
This little gadget works perfect for me!! Looked for something that works on handles and these work. They do take a little bit of getting the hang of opening them, and they are no problem now. They keep my Maine coon from opening the cupboard and getting his treats!!

I purchased several of these almost 2 years ago. ...
I purchased several of these almost 2 years ago. My daughter just turned 5, they are still an effective defense against her. Simple but effective design -- there are no switches. Just bend in the right place and pull.

Does the trick. But, a pain to unlatch.
These do the trick but they're pretty much a pain in the ass to take on and off. Plus, in the 25 I ordered, there was an assortment of two different latch/unlatch systems. That makes them even trickier open, having to remember which is on which cabinet. I've also had 2 of them break; the teeth stopped catching. Because they're a pain to take on and off every time you need access to a cabinet, some members of my family have been known to forget to re-latch them. Then, Baby gets his hopes up only to be disappointed when I swoop in and latch the lock. While I have some complaints, I don't know of a better solution.
