The only Trap that Worked for My Mole Problem
The media could not be loaded. My house is situated right next to a quite popular local golf course in our town. The golf course is gorgeous and is maintained in pristine condition. The mowing, irrigation, and chemical spraying is a normal almost daily scene especially in the spring and summer months. Those months are also when some “unwanted pesky visitors called moles” migrates into our private yards. Had a couple of moles came and gone last summer with one of my dogs even caught one with her ninja paws 🐶. Try as I might, I couldn’t keep up with her and the score board remained 0-1 for quite some time as I tried my best to keep up. Then yesterday, after having exhausted every effort to catchthis one pesky a-la-matrix of a mole that destroyed almost half of my front yard, I finally caught this bad boy with this mole trap 👏👏👏. Honestly, I felt relieved that my ordeal is over, but also quite sad seeing this chunky monkey of a mole impaled and still very much alive when I unearthened the trap (I love nature and animals and though I went gungho with my efforts to catch this mole, it’s just not in me to kill something alive). One of my neighbors had to remind me of the damage it did to my property (and hers partially) and of the sleepless nights I’ve had (worrying if a piece of my front yard will still be there come morning time) in order to convince me to just let it live and let die it’s last few moments in a covered bucket before giving it a proper send off to the garbage bin. Now looking back at everything and every effort and energy I’ve invested in creating battle plans (Sprayed the whole yard with castor oil + dawn soap, castor granules, mole poison pellets, mole poison worms, smoke bomb, flooding the mole runway, dozens of juicy fruit gums, a mole exterminator service, and last but not least three different types of mole traps) to combat this one terrorist of a chunky monkey mole...I finally caught it with the help of this device. So, does it work? Hell yeah! It’s the only one that worked for me and the only one I’m going to use for any potential future mole problems. I know the above might seemed extreme and exaggerated, but it’s all true and this mole has tormented me for months as if it was all fun and games. In the end, I’m glad to tie the score with my dog 1-1 and to say goodbye and RIP to this chunky monkey mole 🙏

Don’t do it. It’s junk.
This is the first product that has inspired me to write a review. This trap is the BIGGEST piece of crap. Soon as I unboxed it, it didn’t work. I took it into my garage and took it apart and it has a simple design that was easy to see how it was supposed to work. Put it back together. Went right outside my garage to test it. It worked. Walked back to the mole tunnels tried to set it and it wouldn’t latch again. The trap is cheap and uses materials. My guess is probably 1 out of 5 of them probably work but there is no tolerance or QC on their product. Don’t buy it or there’s a 1-5 chance you will end up pissed off shattering this junk on a tree like me.

Easy to use but not quality
I like that these are easier to use than there metal counter parts, but they are not as durable. The metal ones can be difficult to work with, but I have gotten quite good with them and prefer them over this version. I bought this one because they are easier to set, but the design decision to create the legs out of plastic was a poor decision. While the ability to step on the foot pegs and shove the trap deeper into the ground is nice compared to the metal ones, it has a chance to snap the plastic legs which is what happened to me. We have had a lack of rain were I live and the ground has been quite hard. Plastic legs do not go well into the hard dry ground. One of the legs has broken off with no good way to reattach it. I am still able to use the trap with one leg, but if the other pops off it will be useless.

Easy to set on a straight mole run and it will get them!
Very easy to set…very much like the Victor traps of old but much easier to set..

Best mole trap
If you're not giving this trap 5 stars, you don't know how to use it. There are a couple of tricks. 1st, you have to make sure you are setting it on an active run, not all the raised trails you see are active, some are exploratory dead end trails (Google how to find active mole run). 2nd, you have to push their raised tunnel that you see on top of the ground, down level to the surrounding ground with your foot. 3rd, straddle the trap over the pushed down area, then push the trap down level to the surrounding ground (using your hands), and let the spikes go into the ground making a channel for the spikes to go into when the trap is sprung. 4th, Once the trap is level to the ground, place your feet on the side of the trap to hold it steady, then lift the spikes up and down several times to form an unrestricted pathway for the spikes when they enter the ground so they will have no resistance when the trap is sprung. 5th, now cock the trap making sure it is level with the ground and that the trigger is sitting flush to the tunnel that you pushed down with your foot. The mole will come back thru his tunnel and push the dirt back up springing the trap, and I guarantee you'll have one less mole.

Cheap material.
I work in plastics and can tell you from 30 years of experience they make plastic at least 3 times stronger than this. Very first use It went in the ground just fine. The next day it was tripped so I slowly pulled it out of the ground gripping it with both hands and on both sides. Pulling it up evenly I heard a Crack and this is what I found. I will not buy these again. It may still work but without both legs it may not perform as well. I'm looking around now for some metal traps that won't break or at least I can weld it back together if it does. Just in case you buy one of these be very careful installing and uninstalling because they are super cheap in material but not in price. BTW I wasn't going to do a review until my wife brought one to me in the same condition the very next day. I bought 2 of them and they lasted less then 24 hours. According to my wife she was very careful after seeing the first one break. Even being gentle with them didn't help. 2 stars because I suppose if you have a child install one it may not break. Plus even with just one spike/leg I think it may continue to serve its purpose. Only time will tell haven't poked one yet.
