Fierce competition for petrol mowers
I bought this as a replacement for our petrol mower which recently broke, and having spent time doing my research decided this looked like an interesting, high power alternative. Our existing petrol mower was heavy, a pain when it suddenly ran out of fuel during mowing and I wasn't keen on the exhaust fumes while the kids are around. This arrived promptly after ordering and was easy to get up and running straight from the box, for a brand I'm not as familiar I was impressed at how well made and 'premium' it feels. The grass box was a bit fiddy to assemble but now it's together it's fine. Both myself and my parents have a medium sized lawn and I managed to mow both within one charge - in fact the indicator suggested it's still a way off needing plugging in again.Pros - particularly in comparison to our old petrol mower:* Charged relatively quickly, no having to go out for a fuel refill.* Indicator lights on battery and mover unit show how charged it is* Much lighter than a petrol mower - could lift one handed using the handles* Felt just as powerful as a petrol mower, with the ability to adjust power depending on grass thickness (or leave as automatic)* Easy to manoeuvre* Very easy to change height settings* Mowed over slightly uneven ground with ease and left a tidy looking cut* Really like the ability to fold the handles for storage, upright it takes up very little space in the garage.* Mowed 2 good sized gardens without need for recharging.* Chops grass very finely with the option to return to the lawn* No stinky fumes or messing with 2T oil!Cons* Doesn't have driven wheels so needed a little shove in places (but the lighter weight meant his wasn't too much of an issue)* At 46cm, the cutting diameter isn't the widest on the marketOverall, having been a little nervous to make the switch from petrol to battery powered, I'm impressed by the build and performance of this machine.

Good value
Good value, battery life is great I've cut our lawns front and back 3 times and battery is showing 50%. Only weakness I can see is the fastening point half way down handlebars is plastic and flexes in use, time will tell.

Strong and capable alternative to petrol
My previous lawn-cutting experience was limited to a electric mower – after moving to a place with much more grass, it was a choice of getting a very long extension cable, going down the petrol route or take the plunge with a battery mower. As the old Bosch electric mower had seen better days, I took the plunge with the LawnMaster and have yet to be disappointed. The LawnMaster is a doddle to set up out of the box and after the initial charge is out of the way, is ready to get cracking. It is surprisingly light and easy to manoeuvre – at the same time it is really solid and well built. The power provided is excellent – it quietly starts up after a short pause and easily works through the lawn leaving a neat and tidy cut.Battery range is a real bonus – I’ve been cutting the lawn quite high so not putting a massive strain on the motor and have been surprised how long I can go without needing to put it back on charge. I’ve tended to make use of the auto setting, meaning the mower can adjust power depending on the length of grass and grunt required. If you want to set it to a constant higher level, this can be easily selected. As with all mowers, I recommend you clean the cutting deck out after each use – I’ve found when cutting slightly damp grass it can build up. A nice feature is that this is quickly detected and the power output restricted to avoid unnecessary draining of the battery.I’ve used both the grass collector and mulching plug to date – both options offer good alternatives depending on how you want to treat your clippings. When collecting I've found it easiest to empty the box every few minutes to keep the weight from building up - the mulching option really chops them down fine leaving them barely visible in the lawn.Summarising my first month with the LawnMaster, I’ve been impressed. It’s good to live with – quiet, strong and flexible. The main benefit is the speed with which I can get the lawn cut to a consistently high standard, fold it away and get on with the rest of the day.

Great mower!
I’ve had a petrol mower for 10 years and I’ve been thinking about switching to a battery powered mower for a while. Having now made the switch I’m very glad I did. It’s easy to figure out how to set up and put together, took me about 10 minutes. The battery comes partially charged but took less than an hour to reach full charge and then it was ready to use. It’s a comparable size to my petrol mower yet much lighter, easier to manoeuvre and just as powerful. Our back lawn is about 25m by 12m. The finish looks better than my old petrol mower and it still nearly fully charged. This mower is a bit more expensive than some other battery powered mowers out there, but the extra power and larger cutting area is worth it.I really like the quick release clips on the handles, making it much easier and convenient to store.I was initially concerned about how often I would need to replace the battery, but then I realised every year I mess about with buying petrol, oil and paying £50 for a service for my petrol mower and I figured I’d probably still be better off even if I do have to replace the battery.Overall, I’m very happy with it and would highly recommend investing or making the switch. Easier to use, lighter, less mess, quieter, cleaner, more compact, easier to store, just as powerful and a cut that’s better than my old mower.
