I always buy Meindl walking boots and shoes. They are the best I have found for all round performance. The fit is excellent in terms of support and comfort. I recommend these to everyone.

I’m now on my third pair of these in 6 years. Don’t take this as a negative, a pair lasts me a couple of years because I wear them to death and if not for the soles wearing out they would last much much longer. I have wide feet and these are simply the best walking shoes I’ve ever bought and I’ve had quite a few over the years. I use these mainly on dry days when I get my shorts on and often walk through early morning wet grass which can soak your feet. I walk an average of 50 miles a week mostly on gritty paths and rocky trails and these Meindl’s make it a real pleasure. The heel grip is good, arch support is good and the toe box is a wide-footer’s dream. My feet stay completely dry and I’ve never had any rubbing, even straight out of the box. Yes they’re expensive, but over the years I’ve realised that you generally get what you pay for.I’ve knocked off one star for the following reasons: The soles wear down quickly and grip becomes and issue, the cord eyelets can snap if you lace up too tight, the fabric on the inside of the heel wears through too quickly and finally Meindl have never responded to my emails so customer service might be a problem. These issues still won’t stop me buying them though, they’re just too comfy!

First walking shoes bought on line. I was not disappointed. Excellent quality and comfortable.

I use these as casual footwear. Like trainers but waterproof.

They outlast cheaper shoes by months. Comfortable fit for slightly wider feet.

I had another pair which I walked miles in. When they fell apart, I wanted to stick with the same brand and shoe, so simply replaced them. Not the cheapest, but they are great.
