Scent is not the same as other products. It’s weaker than pomade scent. I favor the scent level in pomade. The reason for my purchase was for the scent.

I love the scent and feel of it and certainly there have been fewer nicks with my old school razor since using this.

Up until I bought this I had been using King of Shaves. However, Dear Barber is much better. I find it much less greasy and easier to use. I got a much closer shave with zero nicks... Good value!

So it makes pretty terrible pre-shave oil. In fact no-where on the bottle does it say 'pre-' I suspect his is really just shave oil designed to replace your normal shaving cream. It isn't what I wanted.
