I am IMPRESSED with this RC Boat! Sturdy, Fast, Agile, FUN!
Watching internet videos about understanding and using the transmitter is essential, and allowed me to get the rudder trim set up perfectly. Ideal trim is with the rudder trimmed very slightly to turn right. I was VERY impressed with this boat's performance and speed, on my first day with it out on a local lake, and in very breezy conditions with considerable choppy water. The boat just flew over the wavelet tops and was easy to control in spite of the conditions. When trimmed ideally, the boat will corner equally well whether turning left or right and will make sharp turns and tight circles very well. This boat can carve a turn very steep and fast and holds its course beautifully. Of course you can do drift turns too! If you turn very abruptly at full speed the momentum can cause the bow to slightly dip into the water, causing the boat to be COMPLETELY SUBMURGED momentarily, and then the boat shoots back to the surface while still racing forward! I was amazed when I first saw this happen! After I flipped the boat way out from shore, the self righting feature of moving throttle lever back and forth righted the boat as advertised-a big deal to prevent having to swim to the boat. Equally important is the low boat battery alarm the transmitter gives you when its time to bring the boat to shore, to prevent the boat getting stranded in the water with a dead battery. On my first run I had not gotten the cockpit canopy fully snapped into place, and after running the boat, the bilge had half an inch of water in it, which did no harm while running the boat. Finally, this thing shoots out a gorgeous and realistic rooster tail and the sound while running is also quite realistic. I recommend this 100%

FAST little boat is a lot of fun!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I was amazed at how fast this little guy is! The controls look a bit daunting at first, but it is very intuitive to use and very responsive. We tested in a big pond and went back for three days because it was so much fun. The range is great, battery run-time is much longer than expected (~ 15-20 min I think) and again, the speed is impressive.Another thing that was great is that this boat is almost impossible to flip over in the water. You can see in my video that it is quite windy out but that wasn't a problem at all. It has a feature to automatically "right" itself if it does flip, but we honestly couldn't get it to flip so I haven't been able to try that yet. I would definitely recommend this for adults or children.

RIP to the Best Accidental Dog Toy Ever
This little boat made it nearly a year in my care, which may seem a short time, but this thing took a beating. I was originally hesitant to buy it because of some of the lower star reviews making it seem like getting a little water inside will ruin it. I'll get in to those claims later, but at least in my specific boat's case, water inside was mostly not a problem (until it was). I bought it to chase geese off of ponds alongside dogs. Unfortunately, the dogs absolutely love the boat. A black lab and a Jack Russell Terrier. The murderer of the best dog toy ever in question was, I guess, the lab. Though she tried hard to kill it.For about two months in my boat's life, all was well and pleasant. Then one day, while trying to train the dog to not chase the boat, she caught it. She had it in her mouth and crunch crunch, she broke the hull. No one had informed her labs are supposed to have a gentle bite. Water spilled in. The boat turned off. We thought for sure the boat was a goner. It took several minutes to get the boat back from the dog. But this boat was 40 bucks, so I wasn't going to give up on it. So I tried to repair it with some weird glue we had on hand and some nail polish to make it look semi presentable. Some dremeling the glue to be sure the top would fit flush again, BEHOLD, A MIRACLE. THE BOAT HAD RISEN. And because I had two more boats as back up boats, the miracle boat became the dog toy. Like a cat with more lives to spare, we didn't mind risking its life any longer. In an attempt to get my Jack Russell to enjoy swimming, I started taking him out with the damaged boat to chase it. He often caught it (with a much more delicate bite than the lab, shockingly) and would take it on shore from the lake and roll on top of it before I could stop him. That stunt had to happen over 20 times. Still the boat lived without issue. All was well and then tragedy struck again. That lab, the terrible terrible lab, caught it again. Her crunching this time made the lid fall off. It disappeared under the surface of the water before we could find it. Then, in what I'm sure was much like watching the Titanic, the terrible lab let the boat go and it filled with water and sunk under the surface. I grabbed it before it disappeared forever. Like a shoe filled with water, I dumped the water out, all that water. We called it a day, not finding the top to the boat, and went home and let the boat dry out for a week, scared to disturb it. Sure, finally, it had died. BUT NO. Upon putting the battery back in, ANOTHER MIRACLE. Despite being FILLED with water internally, it lived. With a spare top it was back to dog toy status, to the joy of the lab and the jack.It lived a long life, but I regret to inform, it finally died while playing with the lab on Wednesday. The lab, was gentle for her, but after such a long life, slight internal corruption of the elements had occurred and it refused to speed away any longer. The only thing it can do is wag its little tail fin as it says good bye to the people and dogs who have tortured it so much. If you have a dog that likes to chase things, and likes to swim, this boat also makes a wonderful dog toy if the dog doesn't bite too hard. The dogs, no doubt, give it 10/10 bones.

it leaks and is poorly constructed
not an absolute piece of junk...the hull leaked from the second i put it in the water...but it does have good speed and handles ok...the plastic tabs on the cover piece broke off the second time i tried to remove it to charge the battery...the battery doesnt fit in its cradle too well either...every time i open it up to pour thr water out the battery is out of the cradle

FAST cheap boat
We watched a few videos about this boat before buying. It seems to be well made and I was surprised the electric motor is water cooled with coils. My 8 year old son drives it really well. Its too fast to be used in our 13000 gallon pool without smashing into the walls. In the lake it rips around for about 10 minutes before it needs a battery recharge. I would buy again.

Really fun, great for beginners. Short battery life so stock up.
Very good for beginners and a moderate to fast speed. Tried this in the pool and worked well racing a buds. Controls take a little getting used to and shipped fully protected. Pretty much my only complain is the battery life while operating on a full charge still dies out after 10-15 minutes.

I feel terrible that I had sent back my sons most favorite ...
My son only used this boat a handful of times and then it broke. First it was the steering that went out and then there was an electrical failure of some sort that caused the boat to go on and off without using the remote. I feel terrible that I had sent back my sons most favorite Christmas present.
