Renoir: Painter of Happiness

The media could not be loaded.  Of course, it's a Taschen book...so it's the finest! This Renoir book is smaller than most art books, but that's actually a nice feature! It's very easy to flip through and enjoy the comprehensive works if Renoir. I love the book! A great addition to any art lover's library.

The book is small and portable have great quality. Full of information and amazing paintings.

Book came in good condition but if you are a Christian who doesn’t not want to be subjected to nude paintings this book is not for you,I was not really surprised and some may find this review childish or to sensitive but I thought I would warn Christian’s who may want to purchase this book not to waste their money.It’s a pity cause I thought the cover of this book and the other paintings were so beautiful.

The open line for the description painting: “The Luncheon of the Boating Party,” which is supposed to be on the next (p. 158), starts like this:“Renoir was less interested in events on stage in the theater than in the audience, dressed in opera gowns,” and blah, blah, agh! It refers to the (p.87) and so on and talks about many other paintings than the one, readers expected to read. Which is suspicious, especially when you are dealing with visual material. However, Renoir’s painting’ pictures are wonderful. It has an extensive collection of Renoir’s famous creations. And many other illustrations, that could be Renoir’s complete artwork or inaccurate. Even though they are gorgeous. I’m keeping the book, but I’m giving it 2 1/2 stars.
