MeindlMen's Bhutan MFS Hiking Boot, Brown, UK9

Ok the boots are expensive but they are worth the money. My favourite footwear is hiking boots and I wear them daily, different weights and for different activities. I have found quality brands are always more comfortable and more durable thus good value.Sizing is spot on. I’m a 42 slightly wide foot. I bought these as my previous ones had worn out. I was therefore confident ordering on line.The sole is designed to take the shape of your foot and has a deeper than usual sole. The boot is designed to do some serious walking and wear in quickly.The description describes them as Chukka boots. They are not as confirmed on the box. They are Bhutan MFS (memory foam system I.e. the sole).I like them so much I bought two pairs.

I’ve never bought hiking boots online before and if I’d bought these in a shop in the usual way I’d never have chosen them because to begin with they were uncomfortably tight, particularly in my right foot which is slightly bigger than my left. They arrived, I wore them round the house a bit, it was clear they were becoming a bit better so I decided to take the plunge and wear them outside. I’ve done lots of short walks, three or four miles, and I’ve now done perhaps sixty miles in them and at long last they’re comfortable and I’d be happy to do a longer walk in them.

Walking.Have been through many brands over the years of many visits to the lakes.Its been many years since owning a pair of leather boots.These were challenging to start with.But knew they needed time to break in.Now I am totally satisfied very comfortable very water proof and easy to clean.Having said that have only been walking the dog's with them so far and looking forward to giving them the lakes test !!!I would buy these again to go alongside my trusty salewa 👍

Good boots. Can't remember when I bought them but I think it's about 2 years, just after I got divorced. I've worn them regularly and very often. I usually walk about 4 to 5 miles most days but not all and have periods when I don't go out. I've waxed them regularly and I must say they are excellent. The heels are wearing down a bit now and I wonder if Miendl do repairs, not sure how to get in touch. My only complaint is that the tongue of the left boot always slips over to the left and one of the very tough metal lace hooks bent, I've no idea how! Still an excellent boot. Highly recommended.

Great walking boots. Ordered 1/2 size larger than my normal shoe size. (Usually size 8 so went for 8 1/2). Really comfortable. Spent a few hours breaking them in indoors in my usual walking socks before venturing outside. Now clocked a few miles over various terrain outside and the boots are a lovely fit, feel sturdy, great grip and surprisingly not too heavy.Treated the boots with Scalpa hs12 boot cream before wearing outside which provided extra waterproofing and treated the leather.Straight forward ordering and delivery.

I ordered these boots after making a mistake with a cheaper pair. The soles are solid and well designed for grip over a variety of ground, from scrambling up steep rocky slopes to trekking through boggy ground. They are totally waterproof, warm, comfortable to wear all day and light to walk in. The best walking boots I’ve had, and built to a super high standard. I’ve walked in them for a month or so before writing this review, and thoroughly recommend this great footwear.

This is my second pair of Meindl Bhutan boots.The first lasted 4 years (around 2,000 miles) before they started to leak in wet weather.I have worn the new pair twice(26 miles) and they seem fine.I have two minor criticisms,shared by my friends. The first is that it is difficult to remove the laces to clean the boots,as recommended,especially with cold hands.The second is that that application of the Meindl wax,again as recommended,gives the boots a 'cruddy' appearance,and it is difficult to see how the waterproofing spray would work on this.

Best pair of boots I've ever owned. Rugged and high quality.Happily recommend them.
