Rio Brands Big Kahuna Beach Chair with Foot Rest

The first time I used this chair I was so excited because it was so comfotable with my feet up on the foot rest. About an hour into my trip to the pool the bar that supports the feet fell off along with two rubber pieces that held it in place. I figured for $75 I must have just gotten a bad chair, so I exchanged it for a new one. Again, I was sitting at the pool with my feet up the first time I used the new chair and that same bar fell off and even more screws this time. Also, the arm rest was wobbly on this new chair. This one is going back too. A lot of money for this really junky chair. Don't waste your time.

This chair is quite comfortable, however, it is a little on the heavy side for carrying on the beach. Also, the arm adjustment mechanism is plastic and needs to be handled gently when adjusting the slant. I expected a better quality from Rio for the price, but should have known better as it is made in China

The first time we used these chairs, the brace on the foot rest fell out of both chairs within minutes. We decided to continue to use the chairs without the brace...basically it ends up being like a hammock for your feet, which seems fine. Now, on about the 20th use, I was getting out of the chair and one of the armrests broke as I was getting up. If this chair would stay together and last at least a season, I would give it 5 stars, because all the other aspects of it are terrific and work very well. But for the money, I would expect it to be better made. (We live at the beach and use the chairs at least twice a week)

This chair seems to be the perfect beach chair! I'm 6'2" and wanted a chair with a high back and this fits the bill. Very comfortable with the footrest and the ability for the back to fully recline into a flat position. The armrests are wide with a cup holder on one side and the "utility bin" on the other. This bin is perfect to hold our cell phones which we were always fumbling around with at the beach, trying to ensure they stayed out of the sand. Back to the cup holder, it's solid bottom (vs fabric bottom on other chairs) holds beverages solidly upright.The only reason I didn't go with 5 stars here is the back adjustment mechanism under each armrest. They are made of plastic and don't seem too sturdy. One of these mechanisms was actually already broken on the first chair we received. This unit was returned without issue and another arrived. The second unit has worked fine after a solid week of use and seems to be fine. Hoping I'm mistaken about this and these continue to perform for years to come!

This chair is built well and very comfortable. The wood arm rests are nice as well as the trays which include a place for a phone. I would definitely recommend these. They also hand right on the front of the Rio Beach cart.

DO NOT BUY THIS, complete junk, I should have read some of the negative reviews more carefully. For starters, these are bulky, heavy beach chairs that don't fold easily and have no mechanism to keep them folded (a small clip or strap for example). The material is very flimsy aluminum, on the very first use out of the box the piece holding the footrest in place tore at the point where its riveted, leaving the footrest unusable and a very sharp metal edge which was dangerous.Kudos to Amazon, as I contacted them and they immediately sent me a replacement chair. However I was already on my vacation so couldn't use the broken one. As I bought two of these, I thought I'd chalk it up to a fluke and try the other one for the week. After reasonably light use, the metal holding the footrest is starting to bend already, another few days and I'm sure it would have broken.I'm now staring at 3 of these things I have to return, so far Amazon has been helpful but they were still a waste of my time. Save your money and get a decent chair without a footrest that will hold up to use.

We have owned a couple of Rio beach chairs for years, and needing more, decided to try one of these. While basically comfortable, I found the chair awkward to handle and set up and the benefit of the leg rest was minimal (definitely not worth the trouble to me.) We sent it back and ordered some without the leg rest. They are much easier to handle and set up.

Comfortable but the chair is not easy to carry and doe st fold up well. Also cup holder doesn't stay in place when chair is folded. It oops out.
