The Aircast Shoulder Cryo/Cuff with Gravity Cooler is an integrated approach to cold therapy that combines cold and focal compression delivered using a non-motorized, gravity-fed system. It delivers chilled water directly into a Cryo/Cuff that is anatomically designed to provide maximum cryotherapy, eliminating the risk of tissue damage. The Gravity Cooler holds water and ice needed to provide 6 to 8 hours of cryotherapy, and is compatible with all Cryo/Cuff and Arctic Flow pads. It's ideal for minimizing hemarthrosis, swelling, managing pain, post-operative recovery, trauma, rehabilitation and sports injuries. The Gravity Cooler includes tube assembly, plastic fittings and an insulation disk. The user manual provides easy to follow directions for use. Universal fit allows the Aircast Shoulder Cryo/Cuff to be worn on either the left or the right shoulder.

Planning a shoulder surgery? Get this prior to the surgery
We ordered this for my husband to use after his shoulder surgery. It was great to have and used it primarily when he might be at the house alone. It is a big savings of ice. We loan it to our friends/family when they are planning a surgery.

Outstanding but impenetrable directions
OK this works outstandingly but by the time I got it working its best, the time I needed it most was past. I still benefit from it. Hey, maybe I'll get surgery on my other shoulder and I'll be ready to go out of the gate. Here's the thing:. If you only use gravity for it to work (lower cooler and squeeze pad to drain, lift cooler and wait for cold water to dribble into cuff) you will be disappointed. The key is to use vacuum: If you close the airvent before lowering the cooler to drain the cuff, then pop the vent open, the vacuum will slurp all the warmed water out of the cuff and into the cooler. Next step, close the vent, then elevate the cooler. Pop the vent open and the vacuumed cuff will fill automatically. Then you can close the vent, detach the hose if you want, and wait until the next time you need to rechill the cuff. For me in the summer in the 80sF a load of ice lasts all day.I am tempted to dock this 2 stars for awful instructions but the product is great enough that I am giving it 4.

Kind of a pain in the butt, but it does work as intended.
Bought this to use after shoulder surgery. Did it work? Yes, but it’s not perfect. The shoulder cuff is quite large, and It will require a second person to change out the water in the cuff often. The cooler did surprisingly well at keeping ice frozen. If you are not sure how this system works, it uses gravity to exchange water from cooler to cuff. So in order to change the water in the cuff. The cooler has to be a ways above your head, thus requiring someone else to help you. And the cuff only stays cold for 30-45 minutes before needing to be changed. Don’t get me wrong, it does work, but there are other designs that are easier to use.

Help to have a better recovery. Highly recommended .
My Dad had shoulder surgery and this was recommended by a friend. This has helped my dad so much with pain that instead of taking pain pills he would use this .It also help so much from keeping it from swelling. Highly recommend.

Worked, but not good quality
Velcro and fabric are very flimsy, thin, and not the best quality. Fabrix is coming apart. Good for one use recovery of surgery, but do not think it would make it through another one. Was going to let a family friend borrow for their surgery, but it is in such bad shape I don't think it will last for them. Very unfortunate since I have to have my other shoulder done too.

Great aid in recovering from surgery
Works quite well. Had a big impact on my wife’s recovery from rotator cuff repair. Surprised ortho office didn’t recommend off the bat.

Was great following surgery
Works well. Had rotator cuff surgery and used this. I would get the additional pump on lid if I had it to do over again but not too much trouble to drain and refill.
