Very enjoyable
My son loves this book. We reach for it often during bedtime and it’s a lovely story featuring our Chinese culture. I enjoy that female characters are the primary heroines and that the sisters work together to a positive end.

Pure reading entertainment!
As with the Seven Chinese Brothers, this was loved by the children I taught in nursery school, and is now a favorite of my grandchildren aged 3 and 5!

Girl Power!
I bought this book for my 4 year old daughter, but it's quickly become a favorite of my 2 year old son, too. Each girl has a special power and they're not stereotypically gender specific. My kids especially like the 2nd sister--the karate expert--and the 7th sister--the baby. They thought the dragon was bad at first, but when they learn he's actually just very hungry, their hearts go out to him. They also like the last page. Grace Lin's illustrations are top notch, as always, and I love how all the girls wear traditional qipaos. This is a great book for all kids.

My daughters loved it!
What a GREAT book! I really love how it shows how each girl in strong in their own way, and also shows how girls can save the day!But seriously annoyed the writer couldn’t take 5 seconds and google “karate” and find out that it is a Japanese martial art, not Chinese... she could have picked from hundreds of different styles of Chinese marital arts...

Hooray for Women
It's wonderful when a book celebrates the talents and gifts of Chinese girls depicted as individuals. In my past, a girl didn't receive much attention unless she fulfilled what was thought of as feminine duties. The story provides a simply stated and updated look at how far the western world has come in recognizing its potential with female heroines. I recommend this book for general audiences who care about nurturing children with love and understanding.

Wonderful Story and Terrific Illustrations
Brought back memories from my childhood of the "Seven Chinese Brothers"! My four year old daughter can't get enough of this book! We have read it over and over since we received it a few days ago. The sisters all have their own gifts and work together to save their little sister. The illustrations in this book are really outstanding! The story is interesting and kept my kids attentions (which is saying a LOT for a two- and four-year old).

Superbly written. Gripping for reception age kids. Very empowering
Empowering, brilliantly written & illustrated . Good for at least 5-7 yr olds. Addresses fears, overcoming adversity. Siblings working as a team to save each other from danger. Good for switching off from everyday school stuff

Brilliant!
This is a beautiful book with great characters. I love the different skills that the sisters have and the illustrations are gorgeous. If there was a whole series about the sisters and their adventures I would buy my daughter every single one.

Nice story, great illustrations
Been actively searching for books featuring a range of ethnicities in the main characters, purchased this as a result. Great story, lovely illustrations, my daughter really likes it.

Great bedtime girl-power read!
I bought my 5 year old daughter this book for Christmas. She really enjoyed it. It's about seven sisters (as might be expected from the title!), each of whom has a special talent. When the youngest sister is kidnapped by a dragon they go to rescue her, and each of them uses their talent to help. A lovely book for girls to read (nice to have an all female cast of 'heroes'). It's a perfect length for a bedtime story and the illustrations are beautifully done.

Empowering story for girls
Great adventurous story for younger girls. Bit underwhelmed by illustrations - feels a bit dated.
